BTR Strategy · Proprietary research system
We built the system we wanted to trade with.
Financial markets produce more information than any investment team can read, connect and evaluate in real time. BTR Terminal continuously processes public information across transactions, corporate events, private markets, derivatives and biotechnology—turning fragmented observations into structured research hypotheses.
BTR Terminal continuously processes public information across transactions, corporate events, private markets, derivatives and biotechnology—turning fragmented observations into structured research hypotheses.
Why we built it
The market rarely conceals information entirely. More often it scatters the relevant pieces across thousands of sources, instruments and apparently unrelated events.
A filing appears in one market. An options structure develops in another. A private financing revises the implied value of a public competitor. A regulatory decision reshapes an entire probability tree.
Taken alone, these observations may mean little. Connected, verified and interpreted together, they can reveal where market expectations remain incomplete.
BTR Terminal was built so those connections could be made systematically—and so the knowledge produced would compound rather than disappear into notes and documents.
The research loop
Durable edge is created through disciplined observation, systematic testing and the accumulation of research knowledge over time. Every development passes through the same process.
Collect and normalize high-volume public information from specialist sources across markets.
Trace claims to their origin, assess source quality, and separate independent confirmation from repetition.
Map relationships across companies, transactions, instruments, people, sectors, and prior analogues.
Rank relevance, novelty, credibility, timing, and potential impact on market expectations.
Translate a hypothesis into instrument, horizon, scenario range, risk parameters, and invalidation.
Record the outcome and return what mattered—and what did not—into the research base.
The result is not certainty. It is a more disciplined way to decide under uncertainty.
Intelligence engines
Four engines feed a common research process—collection, verification, scoring, trade expression, monitoring and learning.
Corporate activity, strategic reviews, financings, M&A developments and other market-moving events are collected, sourced and ranked before they are fully absorbed into consensus expectations.
Publicly observable venture, private-equity, private-credit, IPO and secondary activity is mapped to show where capital is accumulating and how private valuations interact with public markets.
Unusual options structures, concentrated premium and shifts in implied expectations are examined to identify where meaningful market risk is being expressed.
Clinical, regulatory, financing and intellectual-property events are structured into probability trees with timing, downside exposure and potential market impact.
The research layer
BTR Terminal does more than surface events. It preserves the desk’s research history: original sources, later confirmations, competing interpretations, related companies, prior analogues, trade structures and eventual outcomes.
The desk can query that accumulated knowledge directly, compare a new development with historical patterns, and see where a current hypothesis diverges from market consensus.
Research does not disappear into documents.
It compounds.
Our principles
BTR Strategy
BTR Terminal brings computation, specialist analysis and market judgment into one environment—so the desk can examine more information while applying a consistent standard to every decision. The objective is not to forecast every move. It is to recognize the small number of situations where information, expectations and price appear materially misaligned.
